Tri-nation women's football series: Bangladesh loses 1-0 to Malaysia

Bangladesh women's football team lost 1-0 to Malaysia in the first match of the tri-nation women's football series that started in Dhaka. They lost to Malaysia by the goal conceded in the first half of the match at the National Stadium on Wednesday.
Malaysia's Ansia Binte scored in the 28th minute. The midfielder received the ball on the left. Bangladesh goalkeeper Rupna Chakma came out of the post. Defender Kohati Kisku tried to stop Ansia, but could not. Malaysian midfielder Ansia sent the ball to the empty post from outside the box.
Earlier, Bangladesh had a chance to go ahead. Rituparna jumped from the right side of Shamsunnahar Junior, but could not connect the ball with her head.
After that, neither team scored again. The Malaysian women left the field with a victory. Malaysia had previously played two friendly matches in Dhaka in 2022, losing one 6-0 and drawing one goalless.
The Women's Asian Cup is set to be held in Australia in March 2026. Bangladesh will be participating in the tournament for the first time. As a preparation for this, the BFF has organized a tri-nation series with Malaysia and Azerbaijan.
